TEDDY BEAR TOAST

Giving kids the opportunity to get creative is one of the biggest benefits of cooking together. This Teddy Bear Toast from Half the Sugar, All the Love is so easy to make, and it’s a simple and fun way to let your kids get creative. Woodland animals like owls and bears are a simple starting point, but you can also have fun searching the web for more inspiration or simply let your kids’ creative spirit take hold and have them come up with their own creations. There’s no right answer here, so let your kids have fun and be silly.

TEDDY BEAR TOAST

Serves 1

Perfect for a teddy bear’s picnic, this quick and easy breakfast toast combines naturally sweet peanut butter, bananas, and blueberries. If your little bears are like ours, they’ll love
this as an after-school snack, too.

Ours = 1/4 teaspoon added sugar
Theirs = 3/4 teaspoon added sugar

1 slice whole-wheat sandwich bread
1 tablespoon unsweetened peanut butter, unsweetened sunflower seed butter, or unsweetened almond butter
3 banana slices
3 fresh blueberries

1. Toast the bread in a toaster or oven until golden brown, about 2 minutes.

2. Spread the nut butter evenly on one side of the toast. Place the banana slices on the toast to create the ears and snout. Add 2 blueberries for the eyes and 1 blueberry for the tip of the nose. Serve immediately.
